Barnstead Real Estate

Barnstead is located in Belknap County, New Hampshire.  It is part of the Lake Region of New Hampshire.  It includes the villages of Center Barnstead and Barnstead Parade and is home to the Suncook Lakes.  It is situated 28 miles from Manchester and 87 miles from Boston.  It is crossed by New Hampshire Routes 28, 107 and 126.

The town of Barnstead offers many outdoor recreational opportunities.  The town’s numerous lakes and ponds provide fishing, boating, canoeing and kayaking.  Barnstead also offer miles of trails for snowmobiling. 

Barnstead is home to one elementary school, Barnstead Elementary.  High school students attend Prospect Mount High School, located in the town of Alton.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Barnstead was home to 3,886 residents.  This included 1,422 households and 1,096 families.  The average family size was 3.08 and the average household size was 2.73.  Barnstead is comprised of 41.9 square miles of land and 2.0 square miles of water.
